Each vintage is a new adventure, each year a new challenge, but this constancy in the search for quality always remains. The owners like to produce a charming, strong and well-balanced wine, which corresponds to the style of their terroir. In addition to their Médoc Cru bourgeois, they produce a rosé wine to accompany your summer dishes, and a white wine, their dear “Dame Blanche”. Indeed, the Château is also known as Dame Blanche, as it is associated with the Princess Bianca’s legend. Nowadays, on certain mornings, you can perceive a white fog above the vineyard; it’s the Princess wishing prosperity to the Domain. Therefore, this property might have always been conjugated in the feminine…
The Médoc historic mention “Cru Bourgeois” was established in 1932 and questioned several times in previous rankings. The classification revealed in February 2020, led 249 properties to three different quality levels: “Cru bourgeois”, “Cru bourgeois supérieur” and “Cru bourgeois exceptionnel”. It is with pride that Château du Taillan’s team was rewarded in February 2020 “Cru bourgeois exceptionnel”.

This wine presents a dense red cherry color, the nose is open with red fruits aromas and slight menthol notes. On the palate, the attack is round with a certain freshness and well-integrated tannnins. It’s a pretty and charming vintage, with a long length for the finish.
The « advice » of the five owner sisters: this wine can be tasted now, with a beautiful red meat and a cheese not too strong!
Les notes de la presse :
Gold medal at the Brussels 2016 competition.
Silver medal at the 2017 « Concours des Vignerons Indépendants ».
A grenat color with brilliant reflections and a nose of black and ripe fruit, as well as a touch of liquorice and a harmoniously woody finish. A beautiful structure conferring power and fruit as well as very present tannins which gradually melt. A well-balanced wine, which has to flourish, with good aging potential.
The “advice” of the five owner sisters: a complex wine, rich in flavors, that you can taste with meat in sauce or game.
Les notes de la presse :
92/100 Wine Enthusiast (USA). "[…] This wine is structured [with] generous blackberry aromas. "Roger Voss.
17/20 by Jancis Robinson (GB). “Dense, rich and very ripe with structure and strength. "
89/100 Yves Beck (GER). "[…] Pleasant freshness on the palate. […] Fruity finish.”.
A very dense cherry red color and a nose offering red fruits aromas, and some brioche and vanilla notes, characteristic of great maturity’s years. On the palate, the attack is soft and velvety, the fleshy evolution has a certain freshness. The tannins are present but well integrated, allowing a good length.
The “advice” of the five owner sisters: You will love its sweetness for your aperitif, but you will also like it after it has been put in the cellar for 5 years.
This white wine has a fine, subtly fruity nose, a fresh and tasty well-balanced palate, with citrus and pineapple notes. Its finish is delicately lemony. Produced in small quantities, between 6,000 and 18,000 bottles, this wine is exclusively available at the property, in the United States and at some wine merchants and restaurateurs.
The « advice » of the five owner sisters: La Dame Blanche goes well with grilled fishes and sailfishes or is very pleasant, very fresh, for the aperitif!
A pretty candy pink color and a quality coming from its fruitiness, this wine is very aromatic wiwith English candy notes.
The advice of the owner sisters: Taillan rosé is very pleasant as an aperitif and as an accompaniment to a salad and other summer dishes.
A unique wine, from an old Merlot plot, vinified separately in our cellars!
The concentration and the quality of this plot’s grapes’ tannings deserve more time aging in new barrels. This beautiful vintage presents great complexity and very ripe tannins.
The advice of the owner sisters: Delicious to serve with beautiful beef.
