Château du Taillan has organised a variety of activities focused on tasting wines from the Médoc area. Different workshops are offered for all abilities, all of which are enjoyable and educational.
Using Bordeaux’s grape varieties, you will learn the art of blending, to create your own unique wine. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc will be presented separately, allowing you to try making the most harmonious wine possible.
Towards the end of September, Château du Taillan holds event days, with many different activities taking place. One of these is the harvesting workshop, where we invite you to spend a day as a winemaker. You will take part in a range of activities, from hand picking the grapes, to creating the wine. During the day, you will also be given a winemakers lunch.
Two vineyard owners from the Médoc area welcome you to their properties, and offer the chance to learn more about wine from the Médoc. One of the properties will focus on learning about the vines and grapes, while the other will place more of an emphasis on the cellars and the wine making process. The visit finishes with a tasting of wines from the two châteaux, and you will be presented with a gift (a WIT – Wine In Tube) to take home with you.
This workshop is offered through Château du Taillan or through the Tourist Information Centre in Bordeaux, throughout the year. A minimum of 8 people is required.
